Okay lets talk about baby fashion! Moms lets be serious during our pregnancy we can’t help but go over board with buying the cute little shoes or the extremely expensive little outfits for our baby… but lets be real babies grow out of everything so fast!
My little one is 7 months old and ranges in size from 6-18 months!! I’ll be the first to say that I couldn’t help and buy cute little outfits for her so she could wear right from birth but it didn’t work out that way.
Babies usually live in onesies or pjs maybe for the first few months and in all honesty you don’t get to really see or showoff their cute outfits until maybe 4 months or even later. So what are my suggestions for new mommies or mommies to be… well lets start off with
(Most babies won’t even wear them for more than a month or won’t fit into them to begin with. My little one weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce when she was born and never wore newborn -in clothes or diapers-)
2. Don’t feel like you have to buy the most expensive outfits
Babies don’t know the difference between Gucci and Gymboree. So it shouldn’t matter to you either. Plus the first couple of days or maybe weeks you will be getting use to motherhood and trying to avoid “accidents” from occurring. You will probably have some mishaps along the way and you don’t want to be worrying about whether or not those stains will come out of that $150 outfit. Keep it simple and inexpensive.
3. Consider Consignment Stores
Okay this one is not for everyone but I find it to be a great compromise between buying SUPER FABULOUS baby clothes and it being super inexpensive! A lot of the time you can find amazing pieces of clothing at a fraction of the original cost! One way consignment stores are becoming very popular in the baby world is through Instagram!! I absolutely love using Instagram for this. Some pages dedicate their merchandise of only being vintage while others mainly sale boys clothes or girls! So like i said usually this is not for everyone but it never hurts to give it a try :)
4. Shop SALES!!!
So if the previous suggestion is not your cup of tea NEVER i repeat NEVER pay full price for baby clothes. Stores are always having sales so there shouldn’t be a reason to pay full price for those cute little gold sandals for your baby girl. My ultimate favorite store to for my little princess is BABYGAP!!! They always have a sale going on when it comes to baby clothes. If you have the GAP card you do get some benefits with it like on Tuesdays card members get 10% off their purchase!! But what I love most is that you can use their credit card for their sister stores (Old Navy, Banana republic, PiperLine and etc.) So not only can you get baby a super cute outfit at a great price but you can get mommy an outfit too!!!
5. Don’t conform to society’s idea of pink is for girls and blue is for boys
What I mean by this is that don’t be afraid to mix and match gender clothing. This is idea works better when you have a girl i must admit. Sometimes i see a shirt or shoes that i think are absolutely adorable but they are intended for boys. Pshhh that doesn’t stop me lol. I like to integrate boys basics to my daughter’s wardrobe. She has denim shirts, sneakers, and even hats that are for boys but she rocks them too. Pair a denim shirt with a cute little dress or even with a pair of jeans or leggings. Again babies don’t know what is intended for a boy or what is intended for a girl. So get creative with their outfits maybe even do Mommy and Me Outfits!!
Last but not least….
6. TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!
Your cutie will never be this young again so have fun with their outfits and take lots and lots of pictures for memories. Take advantage of being able to pick out their outfits now because you never know when they will be too cool for mommy or daddy picking out their outfits.

I’ve seen this posted before, but I had never seen the face…!
CLOUD is a large-scale interactive sculpture created from 6,000 light bulbs, new and burnt-out. Constructed by Calgary-based artists Caitlind r.c. Brown and Wayne Garrett, CLOUD was on public display for one-night-only during Calgary’s first Nuit Blanche Festival. As part of the process of creating the sculpture, the artists collected burnt out incandescent light bulbs from local households, businesses, museums, and eco stations. The idea was to create an informal collaboration between the community and the artists, reduce costs, and experiment with the potential of items post-use.
Super cute idea for Bid Day!!!
